Don't you just love this time of year! For one of my Yahoo Groups, InThisHouseandGarden, we had a Christmas Mini Banner Swap. This is what I came up with, not traditional in a red and green way, but an "Old World" concept with Dresden Wings, tinsel, paper fabric I made for the background, scalloped pink satin blanket binding I cut with my antique pinking machine and an impish image I scanned from an old photo. Then I formed a little wreath from leafy garland, dusted it with "snow" and added a reddish-pink sugar berry.
Maybe it's the Pixie Hollow influence that made me do it, after all, I do spend a "little" time on Disney.com with the granddaughter amassing points for wardrobes and furnishings. If you have never visited Pixie Hollow and flown around with your fairy, you have missed some special joys of youth available on the internet today. Try it out but don't blame me if you get hooked!!!
The very best part of the swap is the nice surprise in the mail when they all arrive from the host.
Here are the beauties I received today!!!
Thank you to Suzanne Myers for hosting and for your beautiful Red Cardinal banner. Also thank you Socrates (Sox), Joyce Roberts, Debby Podgorski, Kathie Swanson, and Terri Nickelson-Williams! These are all so wonderful and put the biggest smile on my face today!!!
Can't wait to hang them for everyone to enjoy this year. I just LOVE the banner swaps...
